‘I like living with pressure’— Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo  admitted that he doesn’t mind shouldering the goal-scoring burden at the Santiago Bernabeu and even admits that he thrives under those conditions.

Today at the Dubai’s 8th International Sports Conference, Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded with Globe Soccer Best Player of the Year Fan Favorite Award.

In an interview at the Dubai International Sports ConferenceCristiano spoke about his own goals and the pressure that comes with being one of the best players in the world.

“You have to be strong and focused in everything you do. Sometimes I like living with the pressure.

“It’s always going to be tough to break my own records.

“It will not be easy to fulfill my goals, I know it will be tough but I’ll try. If you do not try, you do not meet your goals.”

Cristiano went on to discuss the Portuguese national team and their chances in the 2014 World Cup, as well as the Spanish national team.

“Portugal are not the favourites and that gives us an advantage.

“They deserve everything they’ve won because they are the best.  Why haven’t they won all those titles earlier? Who knows, that’s football.  I hope that in the future Portugual’s day will come just as Spain’s has.”

Cristiano then discussed who is favourite players was, jokingly stating that he was his own favourite.

“Apart from me, just kidding, just kidding I do not have a favorite player in the world, there are a lot of great footballers in the world.  I like playing alongside great footballers, like my teammates at Real Madrid and I also like to play against great players too.”
